Paris Saint Germain are keen on fulfilling star Kylian Mbappe’s wish of signing Chelsea’s N’golo Kante in the summer.
A few weeks ago, PSG forward Kylian Mbappe made headlines when he made a plea for the deep-pocketed club to make a move for Chelsea’s unsung hero N’golo Kante. And it’s quite apparent that the Ligue 1 outfit is a genie club who are willing to make wishes come true. Kante has been phenomenal for Chelsea ever since arriving from Leicester City a couple of seasons ago. His stellar midfield performances for the Foxes aided them to the Premier League title in their fairy-tale run during the 2015/2016 season.
The Frenchman then helped the Blues to the title once again becoming the first ever outfield player to win back to back Premierships with different clubs. But as Chelsea has struggled this season, the club are sure that some of their stars could be at the exit gate of Stamford Bridge if they do not qualify for the Champions League. Chelsea faces Manchester United in the FA Cup final later this month as well hoping to salvage a trophy this season.
At 19 years of age, Mbappe is one of the hottest properties running around the continent and PSG now has the opportunity to sign him permanently at the Parc Des Prices cutting off his link back to AS Monaco. And when the teenage sensation spoke highly of his national compatriot to beIN Sports, PSG was aware of whom they are going to splash out the funds for in the coming transfer window.
“Kante, in terms of our needs and also the quality of the player, I think he’s a player who’d suit our team perfectly,” Mbappe said. The 27-year-old midfielder is dynamic in the centre of the pitch and will have to face an uphill battle to secure Kante’s services as Chelsea will not make it easy for the French giants.
PSG have already faced issues regarding Financial Fair play before and will likely violate the rules again if they spend big this summer. FIFA could probably place a ban on the club unless they make one big sale.
Mbappe has already announced to the public and his transfer board at PSG that Kante is the prime target for the club in the summer. However, PSG need to be careful as they can spend a lot of money and that can also cause them harm, but Kante would be a perfect replacement for the aging veteran Thiago Motta, if not an upgrade over the Italian midfield general.
