Five days into the January transfer market, there are yet to be major moves among the litany of clubs across Europe. Christian Pulisic, Dortmund and Chelsea started off the year with a banger of a deal, but since then, it has been the same old tedious process of transfer links and rumours (with due respect to Dominic Solanke, Nathaniel Clyne, Liverpool and Bournemouth) to satiate our appetites.
But there is still almost a month to go, so patience is a virtue that would come in handy during that period. But for now, let us take a look at the activities of the Premier League’s top six for the day…

Red Devils to make a bid for former Atletico star?
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was coy on Friday when questioned about the plans of Manchester United for the winter transfer window. Perhaps he is just trying to keep things quiet, for a report has suggested that the club could make a move for Yannick Ferreira-Carrasco. The Belgium winger seemed to have chosen money, all £170,000-a-week of it, and a move to Dalian Yifang from Atletico Madrid last year. Shockingly, or not, he is unsettled and feels he is not valued at the Chinese club.
That means United, who were once linked to Ferreira-Carrasco, are toying with to idea of giving the 25-year-old a route back to Europe this month. At least that is what Foot Mercato claims, so this news needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. A winger is what the Red Devils desperately need, and someone of Carrasco’s quality would surely be a welcome addition, but with it would be better to hang on for more information before jumping to excited conclusions.
