Gunners step up pursuit of Mesut Ozil ‘replacement’
The German, Arsenal’s highest-paid player, has found himself frozen out of the picture under Unai Emery, leading to rumours that an exit is imminent, thus helping the manager use his £350,000-a-week wages to source other players. And one of those targets is PSV’s 23-year-old Mexican star Hirving Lozano, according to TMW.
The report says that Arsenal are keen on the winger but are no impressed by his £35m price-tag. PSV will apparently be fine with an amount close to £27m, along with add-ons, if clubs want to conduct any deal come summer. With Emery having publicly stated that the club have no funds for purchases in January, it will be interesting to see if the Spaniard can bring on board a talent as special as Lozano.
