Premier League Side Now To Battle With La Liga Giants For Juventus Midfielder

Busquets Hazard Chelsea Barcelona

Barcelona will have to compete against English side Chelsea in order to sign Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

There will be a huge void in the midfield department for Barcelona as Andres Iniesta has played his last game for the Catalonian giants. The Spanish legend will not play again for Barcelona and the La Liga champions know that they need to find a suitable replacement for the veteran in this summer transfer window.

Chelsea’s season has been a struggle especially after Nemanja Matic left the club for Manchester United last summer. The Blues brought in Tiemoue Bakayoko, Danny Drinkwater and Ross Barkley over two transfer windows but none of them have managed to produce anything worthwhile for Chelsea. With N’golo Kante also linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain, Chelsea will once again look into the transfer market but hope to make the correct pick.

Barcelona and Chelsea have identified Juventus midfield maestro Miralem Pjanic as the man to solve their respective defensive woes.

Juventus Name Their Price-

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Barcelona’s representatives have already contacted the Serie A club in order to negotiate a deal with Juventus over the sale for Pjanic but Chelsea have also shown their interest in signing the 28-year-old, who is keen on getting his hands on a better salary as well as a club that can compete for continental success.

Although both clubs can offer Pjanic lucrative deals better than the one he is on at Turin, the Italian champions are now demanding £70 million for the sale of Pjanic. The Bosnian has been very impressive for Juventus helping the Old Lady to two Scudetto’s ever since joining them back in 2016.

Author’s Take-

I think that Pjanic is one of the most accomplished midfielders in Europe at the moment and should fill in the boots well for Andres Iniesta. Maybe the lack of Champions League football will not attract Pjanic to Stamford Bridge.
