Premier League rivals emerge as shock favorites to sign Man Utd superstar

Fierce League rivals Chelsea and Manchester City have been termed as favorites to secure a deal for Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford, according to reports.

The young superstar has already shown the world his footballing capabilities with his electrifying pace and skill. Rashford has established himself as one of the first team regulars at Manchester United, under manager Jose Mourinho.

However, the Red Devils will know that they have a massive task ahead of them this summer, to keep Rashford at Old Trafford. In the past, La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are keen on bringing him to Spain and nurture Rashford even further.

At just 20 years of age, Rashford has already made his breakthrough, but has still struggled to cement his spot in United’s starting eleven. Mourinho has been spoilt for choice on the flanks, with Anthony Martial, Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez and Jesse Lingard also in United’s ranks.

His inconsistency has led to the England international falling down the pecking order. In 33 Premier League games this season, Rashford has started just 15. In 44 appearances all competitions this season, he has scored 12 times and notched up six assists.

Inside News –

Despite the top clubs in Europe showing a massive interest in Rashford, United’s league rivals Manchester City and Chelsea are eager to make a bid for the 20-year-old. In a shocking report published by The Sun, the two English clubs are favorites to land the rapid winger.

However, Rashford has come through the Manchester United academy. He may not have any desire to join hands with their local fierce rivals Manchester City. And neither would United want to sell their prized starlet to one of their other most bitter rivals, Chelsea.

Author’s Take-

I think Rashford has great potential and is extremely talented, therefore Manchester United mustn’t let go of him so easily. Especially to a direct league rival would be akin to suicide, he could come back to the Theatre of Dreams to haunt them every season and show United what they have missed out on.
