Premier League Champion Manager Excited For New Chelsea Boss Unveiling

Premier League giants take pole position in the race for the Serie A Star

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is looking forward to Chelsea hiring Maurizio Sarri in the next few days.

Pep Guardiola has taken the Premier League by storm this season after winning the title by a record 100 points and is ready for another stellar campaign next term. However, the Spaniard is looking forward to competing with ex-Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri is he takes up a job in the Premier League.

After Chelsea finished fifth on the Premier League table, manager Antonio Conte is reportedly set to get the sack from Stamford Bridge in the next few days with Sarri lined up at his national compatriot’s successor.

And Sarri already has an admirer in the Premier League in the form of his Manchester City counterpart if he is unveiled as the Chelsea boss. City took on Napoli in the Champions League earlier this season and although the English side won both the fixtures, Guardiola was heavily impressed with the Partenopei’s brand of football under the 59-year-old Sarri.

Guardiola Praises Sarri-

Speaking to the Metro, Guardiola was asked about how he would feel if Sarri comes to the English Premier League to which the former Barcelona man replied, “If he comes to England, it would be a pleasure, For somebody like me, who loves watching games at home on the sofa, Napoli are spectacular and his brand of football is a joy to watch. Often a coach is judged on wins, but you’ve also got to look at the shape as well as the substance – Sarri had Empoli and Napoli playing great football, and he did a fantastic job.”

Sarri guided Napoli to a 2nd place finish in the Serie A table this season and has received plaudits for transitioning the Italian club.

Author’s Take-

Pep Guardiola is a man who loves watching pretty football and Sarri certainly brings that in his philosophy. Just like Guardiola, I am also eager to see if Sarri can adapt to life in the English League because he will be competing with the best managers in the world.
