Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang yet again hints at a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.
In an interview with Soccer Laduma, Aubameyang has once again confirmed his like for a move to the European Champions Real Madrid. He admits that he still wants to play for Real Madrid.
Aubameyang joined German side Borussia Dortmund in 2013 from French club Saint-Étienne. During the last four seasons, Aubameyang has proved himself as a world-class striker in Bundesliga. He scored more than 40 goals for Borussia Dortmund in his first two seasons itself. In 2015-16 season Aubameyang scored 39 goals from 49 games across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund.
He is currently on a hot streak, scoring 20 goals from just 22 games for Borussia Dortmund this season. The former AC Milan striker is now considered as one of the best strikers in the world.
During an interview with Soccer Laduma, Aubameyang admitted that he wishes to play for Real Madrid, as it was his promise. He also said that he is very much dedicated to Borussia Dortmund and likes to score more goals for them.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang said, “I have devoted myself to Dortmund and I like scoring goals for this club.”
“Yes (I still want to play for Real Madrid), it’s a promise I made to my grandfather,” he said.
Recently, Aubameyang played against Real Madrid in a Champions League group match at Santiago Bernabeu. Even though the match ended in a 2-2 draw, the 27-year-old offered a glimpse of his talent in front of Real Madrid fans.
Borussia Dortmund came from 2-0 down in that match where Aubameyang scored one goal and assisted another. With that result, Aubameyang’s Dortmund finished above Real Madrid in Group F.
The Gabon international who is enjoying his fourth season at Borussia Dortmund has already started planning for his future. But these transfer rumors linking him to Real Madrid is not at all affecting his game.
Earlier in 2016, Real Madrid was handed a ban for the next two transfer windows by the official governing body FIFA. But two days ago, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced the transfer ban to just one window. This means they can sign new players from 2017 summer transfer window.
If Real Madrid is looking for a striker in next summer, then Aubameyang will be the regarded as the primary target. Since the player himself has expressed his like to join the Spanish side, the transfer will easily go through.
