Ligue 1 Giants Monaco has announced the signing of Barcelona teenager Robert Navarro as the French club continue to focus on young talent.
The 16-year-old attacking midfielder has completed a move from Spanish Giants Barcelona to Ligue 1 outlet Monaco. The teenager who has represented Spain at youth level is described by the French club as “a great hope of his generation”.
Aged just 16, the midfielder held endless talks and fielded numerous offers to sign a new contract at La Masia, but to no avail. Navarro follows Monaco’s signing of Willem Geubbles, a France International who joined Monaco in a €20 Million deal from Lyon last month.

Speaking after signing for Monaco, Navarro said: “Monaco are a great club that relies heavily on its training and gives young people the chance to express themselves at the highest level. My goal is to work hard to move forward and take new steps.”
Monaco continues to rebuild their ranks after seeing dozens of stars leaving over the past two seasons. 2016/17 saw Kylian Mbappe leaving for arch-rivals Paris Saint-Germain while Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy left for Premier League Giants, Manchester City. However, this summer has already seen Thomas Lemar leaving for Spanish Giants Atletico Madrid and Fabinho departing for Liverpool.
Monaco finished second in Ligue 1 last season on 80 points, 13 behind title winners Paris Saint-Germain.
I won’t speak about his skills and potential as I am yet to see him play. But if Monaco are actively behind this player then it surely means that he possesses some unique set of skills.
