Neymar will join Real Madrid soon- Former Barcelona star reveals

Neymar made last summer’s transfer window his own after a mega-million move but former Barcelona star believes that he will join Real Madrid very soon.

The Brazilian made last summer transfer window his own personal soap opera, which dragged on for what seemed like weeks before he finally handed over a check for €222 million to Barcelona, despite reports of the La Liga ready to block the move. But everything went through and Neymar became the most expensive player in football history, annihilating the comparatively paltry sum of 90 million that Manchester United shelled out for Paul Pogba.

However, with Real Madrid losing Cristiano Ronaldo in a transfer that shocked the world. Serie A giants Juventus managed to sign the 33-year-old in a 100 million deal that was revealed last week. While Cristiano Ronaldo did go on to announce after the Champions League final that he might leave, many thought that his comments were just a way to upstage Gareth Bale’s brilliant performance.

But Serie A giants and cunning users of the transfer market, Juventus managed to step in and swoop in for the 33-year-old’s signature in a blockbuster 100 million move. But that has left Real Madrid reeling and also left Julen Lopetegui depending on Gareth Bale to replace the superstar. While the Los Blancos were linked with a move for Neymar during the summer window, the Brazilian’s comments saying that he was happy, broke any chance of Real Madrid signing Neymar.

However, according to former Barcelona superstar Rivaldo, the PSG superstar will move to the Santiago Bernabeu and soon. In an exclusive with Bet-fair, Rivaldo went on say “It seems probable that Neymar will stay in France this season but in football you never know what could happen the next day. Everything is on the table until the transfer window closes.

For now, I must believe in his own words about staying at PSG, but from what I’ve heard, he will end up – sooner or later – at Real Madrid”

Rivaldo also had a lot to say about his former club, revealing how Barcelona have changed and adapted since losing Neymar. “They’ve (Barcelona) have signed Malcom and Arthur and both look capable of being solid investments. They are young, skilled players. For that reason, the club can benefit from them in two different ways – on the pitch playing or as a future transfer for another club.

I think Barca are making the correct choices in the transfer window to build a strong squad this season,” he further added.

Author’s take:

While Real Madrid and Florentino Perez really want Neymar, the club and its president needs to look at the bigger picture. The Brazilian is without a doubt a brilliant player, but the question still remains, does Neymar have it in him to carry a team when it’s at it’ very worst? Or will the 26-year-old be forever relegated to being the best supporting cast ever created?
