Dhoni has been a big influence in my career: Jadeja

It is well-known that MS Dhoni has backed youngsters through and through. He knows how to bring the best out of players. This is precisely the reason why he won all three ICC trophies as captain.

Several youngsters bloomed under MS Dhoni’s guidance and Ravindra Jadeja is one among them. The all-rounder made his debut across Test, ODI and T20I formats under MS Dhoni.

While speaking to TOI, Jadeja specified that MS Dhoni has clearly made a huge difference in his career. “MS Dhoni has been a big influence in my cricket career,” said Jadeja.

“Yes, I definitely miss him because he was always guiding me in the right way. If I wasn’t doing the right thing on the field, he would come and talk to me, and tell me that I have to work more on a particular aspect. He keeps talking to me, and our bond goes back 12 years. I do miss him,” Jadeja continued.

Ravindra Jadeja also went on to describe the captaincy styles of MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Jadeja played under both successful Indian captains – Dhoni and Kohli highly successful Indian captains. According to Jadeja, MS Dhoni was cool and calm as a leader while Virat Kohli likes to be more aggressive and express himself.

“I think they are both different in their captaincy (styles). I think Dhoni bhai is very calm, but Virat is more of an aggressive and positive captain on the field. They both have their own styles to lead the team,” Ravindra Jadeja concluded.
