Chennai Super Kings took on the table-toppers Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both teams are in surreal form in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League.
Royal Challengers Bangalore bowlers tried their best to slow down Chennai Super Kings. However, they couldn’t keep the CSK batsmen silent for the first 9 overs.
The former South African captain Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad added a vital 74-run partnership for the first wicket. Gaikwad (33) was dismissed by Yuzvendra Chahal.
Harshal Patel got rid of Suresh Raina (24) and Faf du Plessis (50) in 13.4 and 13.5 overs respectively. RCB came back into the game and CSK struggled to score runs quickly.
However, Ravindra Jadeja had other plans in mind. Although, he didn’t get off the mark in the first 3 balls, the 32-year-old southpaw looked really good as the game progressed.
The best part of the game was witnessed in the last over of the team’s innings. Jadeja scored 37 runs in an over which included 5 sixes and a four off Harshal Patel’s bowling.
MS Dhoni’s 8-year-old tweet on Ravindra Jadeja goes viral
Ravindra Jadeja changed the entire texture of the game by adding more runs in the last over. In the process, he went on to score 62 off 28 balls including 4 fours and 5 sixes at a strike rate of 221.43. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni’s 8-year-old tweet on Ravindra Jadeja is doing the rounds on social media after Jadeja’s all-round show against RCB.
Jadeja affected a superb run-out to dismiss Daniel Christian. He took 3 wickets to his name. Moreover, he bowled a maiden wicket over and conceded 13 runs in his full quota of 4 overs. 8 years ago, MS Dhoni took to his official Twitter handle and wrote: “God realised RAJNI sir is getting old so he created sir ravindra jadeja.”
