Juventus and Barcelona are about to complete their transfer deal involving Arthur Melo and Miralem Pjanic this summer transfer window
Barcelona has reached final terms in their recent swap deal with Juventus. The Bianconeri were eager to bring in Arthur Melo this summer. Juve offered the Catalunya outfit Miralem Pjanic in return. Also, the club will benefit from some cash of 10 million euros. The Blaugrana Board agreed to bring in Pjanic as he was an old transfer target.
The 30-year-old midfielder had a failed move to Camp Nou in 2019. However, this time the interests seem real and talks are ahead. The speculation of the swap deal triggered the rumor mills. Marca confirmed the authenticity of the transfer. Even, the players have traveled for a medical on respective sides.
Barcelona board is set to receive negative opinions for bringing in an aging midfielder. Letting Arthur Melo is not what Barca fans expected from the club. The Brazilian performed well since he arrived in 2018.
He was a future project for the midfield. Arthur possesses much more playing time than Pjanic. But he will lose to Pjanic in terms of experience and playmaking skills.
The Bosnian midfielder has played in the Italian top tier for a decade. He kickstarted his Serie A career when former Barca boss Luis Enrique signed him.
Pjanic’s previous comments will be a backfire
Pjanic arrived from Lyon and showed his class with his extensive versatility. Regaining possession define his defensive skills. He also enhances the tempo of gameplay by rotating the ball maintaining possession.
Irrespective of the qualities that Pjanic has, Barca fans are not happy with this deal. They have shown clear displeasure over this deal. The Catalan club is balancing its books with the cash from Juve. It is Juventus who are going to benefit from this deal on obtaining fresh young face in their squad.
Moreover, there are more reasons why Pjanic will receive hate from fans. His previous comments from an interview during his time at Roma is controversial. Pjanic spoke to Oslobodjenje over the rumors with his good form at Stadio Olimpico. In the same interview, he confessed his favorite club as per Sport.
To every Barcelona supporter’s rage, it is Real Madrid. Pjanic liked the Los Blancos during his childhood days. It is quite ironic that he is moving to their arch-rivals. This comment may spread much more hate among the fanbase for Pjanic.
