India vs Sri Lanka 2nd ODI completed yesterday at R.Premdasa stadium. Visitors pocketed the match along with the series after this elegant victory. It was the mouth-stitching win of Indian youngsters over the neighbors. However, Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first.
While batting first, opened Fernando and Bhanuka did well for the home side. As they scored 50 and 36 runs respectively. The opening partnership of 77 runs helped Sri Lankans to remain wicketless till the 13th over of an inning.
After the departure of the Bhanuka, Rajapaksa only performs the role of the attendee. Because he just came on the crease and went back to the pavilion on the first ball by scoring zero runs. But Silva and Asalanka remain exceptions for this as both of them played well.
Silva completed the quarter-century i.e 32 runs in 45 balls including one four. Whereas, Asalanka scored remarkable 65 runs in just 68 balls. This helps them to cross the milestone of 200 runs but the skipper’s performance disappointed a lot to Sri Lankans.
Dasun Shanaka went back to the pavilion by scoring only 16 runs. Back to back Hasaranga also follows in the footsteps and went back to the dugout by scoring only 8 runs. Tailender Karunaratne did all the things required to finish an inning. Smashed not out 44 runs with a strike rate of 133 and helped Lanka to reach a total of 275/9 in 50 overs.
On the other hand, Indian bowlers struggled a lot in the first powerplay to get the wickets as Sri Lankan batters were in full form. Bhubaneswar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal took three wickets each. Deepak Chahar scalped two Sri Lankan batters.

During the second inning, India openers weren’t able to take on a Sri Lankan bowler. As a result, India lost five important wickets in the first 20 overs. From which Prithvi Shaw, Hardik Pandya, and Ishan Kishan were disappointed a lot.
Prithvi was able to reach the double figures but Hardik went back on duck and Ishan Kishan by scoring just one run. Besides them, Manish Pandey and Dhawan displayed a moderate score on the board i.e 39 and 27 runs respectively.
Likewise, the falling of wickets continued and India was in the worst situation i.e 193/7 in 35 overs. But an outstanding knock from Deepak Chahar helped Indians to come back into the match. As he scored not out 69 runs and made the over 80 runs partnership with Bhuvneshwar Kumar to clinch the win for India.

Meanwhile, after India’s victory Sri Lankan coach Mickey Arthur gets frustrated and walk into the ground towards the Sri Lankan skipper. At that time both of them started the conversation under huge frustration and did hand signs while talking. This scene left the whole cricket world in a different situation.

Former cricketers along with fans expressed their opinions about this scenario. Sri Lankan legend Rusell Arnold said, “That conversation between Coach and captain should not have happened on the field but in the dressing room.”
To clarify the doubts of the people and Rusell Arnold, Mikey Arthur replied and said, “Russ, we win together and lose together but we learn all the time! Dasun and myself are growing a team and we both were very frustrated we did not get over the line! It was actually a very good debate, no need to make mischief out of it!”
