Maurizio Sarri won’t like what Bayern Munich coach said about N’Golo Kante

Sarri is struggling to convince the likes of Eden Hazard and Hudson-Odoi and face the same situation with N’Golo Kante.

Chelsea right now are finding themselves more and more in trouble. The Blues look distant from finishing in top 4 this season. There has been rumors of Maurizio Sarri facing sack in the coming days. The club is yet to find director of football and face a transfer ban of 12 months. Then there’s Eden Hazard who looks likely to leave Stamford Bridge in summer due to all this. All this has come at a time when the contracts of David Luiz, Olivier Giroud and Gary Cahill are close to expiring. With so many player’s contracts coming to end it seems Chelsea and Sarri are struggling to keep players happy. Maurizio Sarri won’t like what Bayern Munich’s assistant coach has to say about N’Golo Kante.

Bayern Munich assistant manager Robert Kovac has professed his admiration for Chelsea star N’Golo Kante and Maurizio Sarri will be concerned that his words could pre-empt a summer bid for his midfielder. Sarri has played Kante in an unfamiliar role this term which has caused consternation among Chelsea fans. The World Cup winner is already coveted by Ligue 1 champions Paris St-Germain as well as Premier League kings Manchester City. Bayern, meanwhile, sit second in the Bundesliga behind Borussia Dortmund in a season which has fallen below their usual high standards and Kante could be targeted as the club plans to overhaul its ageing squad this summer. Kovac has hinted at that Bayern maybe tempted to sign Kante. He told RMC, “Today, to succeed – and I will take France as an example – you need a player like N’Golo Kanté. He does the housework wherever he goes. Real Madrid also has this kind of player. Bayern Munich had these kind of players. Today, we do not have a player like him. Those who are here must do this work. This means that defending is the task of every player.”

Kante, 28, signed a contract extension with Chelsea last November. And that deal suggests that he will be going nowhere any time soon. The west Londoners are also about to be stung with a two-window transfer ban, with it being claimed that no sales will be sanctioned by the Blues until they are back in a position to be able to bolster their ranks . Also City have been monitoring Kante’s situation at Chelsea and have requested intermediaries to keep them up to date if the midfielder becomes unhappy at the club

Author’s Take:

It seems Bayern are trying to play the same tactic as Madrid is trying to lure Pogba. However, it seems Kante is happy at Chelsea and Chelsea would be reluctant to sell Kante given the fact that they will be facing 12 months transfer ban.
