It will be the second game of the hectic schedule for Manchester United when they host Leicester City at Old Trafford on Tuesday evening. After the suspension of the game against Liverpool, the Red Devils now have to play three games in a space of five days. However, they are in a very good position and their qualification to the Champions League is not under imminent threat.
While Leicester City‘s qualification to the Champions League is under threat. Last week Chelsea managed to climb above them in third place with a 1-2 win over Manchester City. They are currently fourth in the Premier League table with 63 points. West Ham are just breathing down their neck with 58 points.
The Red Devils just four points from their final four games. They would want to wrap things up early so that there is no late drama on the final matchday. The Foxes see this game against Manchester United as a do-or-die match. If they win this one, they will not only add points to their own tally but they will also stop an opponent team to add points to their tally.
Analysis: Manchester United vs Leicester City
Both teams will have good spells within the game. However, this season the Red Devils have shown that they can be very effective on the counter-attacks. Thus the Foxes have to be wary of that.
However, the Red Devils can’t allow defensive lapses like they have been doing this season. There have been times when the opponents score the first goal and then Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s team makes a comeback. But that might not work against a team like Leicester City.
Even this year in the FA Cup, Manchester United made mistakes and the Foxes made them pay for it as well. Brenden Rodgers will be hoping that this time as well Manchester United gives his side the opportunity to score first.

Head to Head stats: Manchester United vs Leciester City
Since losing 5-3 in 2015 to the Foxes, the Red Devils are unbeaten against them in 12 Premier League games. While Brendon Rodger’s side has only won once in their previous 22 visits to Old Trafford. Overall, both teams 132 games, Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s side has won 68 games, Leicester City have won 34 times and the rest of 30 games have been a draw.
Though Edinson Cavani is the player in news right now. But Marcus Rashford is also in red hot form. In the game against Aston Villa, no other player created more chances than the Englishman. With more focus on players like Pogba, Fernandes, and Greenwood, Rashford could be the player to play a pivotal role in this game.
Players like Fernandes and Pogba will try to pass in between the lines. Also, the Red Devils are very efficient at counter-attacking. In order to stop both of these threats, Wilfred Ndidi has to be more alert than usual. If Manchester United players are able to bypass him easily they could in trouble.
12th Man Opinion: Manchester United 1 vs Leciester City 2
Ole Gunnar Solskjear and his men are more tired than Breden Rodgers and his men. Also, they have a habit of giving away goals. The Foxes have Vardy upfront who will pounce of chances. Thus the game will end this way.
