Jose Mourinho and Manchester United’s top target has revealed that Antonio Conte’s replacement wants to take him to Chelsea next season.
The Blues have struggled this season, especially in the Premier League with Antonio Conte failing to live-up to the potential of his debut season. The former Juventus boss won the league title in his very first season with Chelsea, but since has failed to produce anything even remarkably similar with the Blues’ Champions League hopes dwindling as they enter the last Matchweek of the Premier League season.
To ensure Champions League football for next season, not only does Chelsea have to win their next game but they also have to hope that both Liverpool and Tottenham lose their games. Chelsea faces Newcastle United, while both Liverpool and Tottenham face Brighton and Leicester City respectively on Sunday.
If Chelsea does end up losing, then the only way they make the Champions League is if Liverpool wins the Champions League final against Real Madrid. This would give essentially give the Reds automatically qualification and thus their spot goes to the next team, which would be Chelsea. However, many suggest that this is Antonio Conte’s last season at Stamford Bridge, with many expecting Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri to be the one to replace him.
However, in the process, it has been revealed that Napoli star Jorginho, one of Sarri’s most valuable and influential stars, could also move away. The Italian has attracted the interest of Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, and even Chelsea, but according to reports, the Blues do have the advantage. The 26-year-old has reportedly told his friends and family that if Sarri does take the Chelsea job, the Napoli boss will sign Jorginho for the Blues.
There have been reports that Jose Mourinho and Manchester United lead the race for the Napoli star, but Jorginho’s agent has revealed that there has been no contact, “I heard that Jorge Mendes would like to take him [Jorginho] to United but I do not know anything about it, nobody called me”
Chelsea needs another central midfielder and Jorginho would be a brilliant signing, especially given the fact that Tiemoue Bakayoko has struggled and Cesc Fabregas is growing older day by day. The 26 year old would be a perfect replacement and also would fit into Maurizio Sarri’s system if he does become the next Blue boss.
