Jerome Boateng is considering his options amid interest from Premier League giants Manchester United, who are looking to sign him.
The Bayern Munich man has been thinking about his future plans and has refused to rule out a move away from the Allianz Arena, with the club from England a keen admirer to bring him in. The 29-year-old German international recently spoke to Socrates magazine about his experience with the Bundesliga champs and yet again it seemed as if a potential exit could be on the cards.
He went on to reveal in an interview, “I’ve experienced everything at FC Bayern, and I am slowly coming to a point where I must answer myself certain questions. What are the goals I have not reached yet? Do I, time and time again, want to prove myself at the same club with the same pre-conditions? Those are not necessarily classic questions regarding the career, but vital questions and, in the end, questions that drive people.”
This could be a huge hint suggesting that the player is intrigued by the interest that Jose Mourinho’s side have now shown in his services and could possibly look to leave Bayern, prior to the start of the new season. United will have to prepare a solid offer for him, if they are serious to sign him and reinforce their defensive line, which has not always been the best this term.
The Manchester-based side are winning titles which is a real positive thing, yet their ambition will be to challenge for the top flight of English football and the Champions League. They have an FA Cup final coming up against Chelsea and it will be interesting to see whether they end the campaign with some silverware of empty-handed.
If they fail to win anything this season, Mourinho might be forced to make some high-quality buys, which would mean that there is a major possibility that an offer to bring in Boateng will be possibly made as well. Whether or not the experienced defender accepts to make the move, will be a thing to watch out for, though this will surely be a transfer saga full of drama.
