There was a rumor that the Alexis Sanchez could miss the final against Chelsea in the FA Cup final after sustaining a knock in training, but that seems to have eased off slightly.
A lot of question marks were raised when Jose Mourinho decided to sit out Alexis Sanchez for the game against Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday night. United lost the game 1-0 and Mourinho was asked about the unavailability of the Chilean forward to which he replied, that Sanchez sustained a slight problem in training.
The Portuguese boss refused to answer any further questions regarding Sanchez that added concern to Sanchez unlikely to feature for the FA Cup final against Chelsea next Saturday (19th May). The Red Devils feared the worst as their January signing would miss the remainder of the campaign and probably the one chance to salvage some silverware at the end of this term. But according to Metro, the 29-year-old winger could be available for United’s last game of the Premier League.
Most of the United faithful will be delighted to hear that Sanchez was spotted in training yesterday practicing free-kicks and should be fit for the clash against Watford this Saturday. The former Arsenal forward was also seen near his home in Wilmslow as he sprinted to his car from a local restaurant showing no real signs of uneasiness.
Sanchez may not be risked for the game against West Ham United on Thursday night as he continues his recovery to full fitness after slight training on the weekend as well. This means that Sanchez should be available for the FA Cup final along with strike partner Romelu Lukaku, who is currently in Belgium receiving treatment for his ankle.
Sanchez’ fitness would be a huge boost for United, even Lukaku would be a massive addition to bolster the club’s forward line. People could see how their absence was felt when the two forwards missed the game against Brighton at the weekend.
