Manchester United Preparing Massive Bid For Serie A Defender, Done Deal?

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United is keen on making a bid for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro in the summer transfer window.

With the transfer window nearing, Jose Mourinho has decided that his current Manchester United squad requires re-enforcements to compete for the Premier League title next season. Manchester United fell far short of their local rivals and neighbors Manchester City who won the League title with a record 100 points in England.

Sandro To United?-

According to the Sunday Times, Juventus star Alex Sandro has asked for a move away from Turin in the next window to face new challenges elsewhere across the continent. The Brazilian has been a revelation for the Old Lady as they are on course to win the domestic double for the third consecutive season with Sandro playing a massive part in all three terms including reaching the Champions League final last season.

Mourinho has been monitoring the versatile defender in order to revamp his United team. Ashley Young and Luke Shaw have not impressed the 55-year-old manager and Mourinho is looking for a long-term replacement to slot in the left-back zone.

Juventus have already asked a massive price of £50 million for their treasured asset, a similar fee that Manchester City paid to recruit Benjamin Mendy from AS Monaco last summer. And Manchester United is already in the process to meet Juventus’ demands with the English giants eager to bring Sandro to Old Trafford before the FIFA World Cup begins.

The report claims that Sandro will be signed by the end of Manchester United’s visit to Wembley for the FA Cup final against Antonio Conte’s depleted Chelsea. Juventus still have two more games left in the Serie A before their league campaign ends.

Author’s Take-

If a deal has been agreed upon, Sandro will make a huge upgrade on the left-hand side for Manchester United. The South American should form a mouth-watering partnership with Chilean Alexis Sanchez as the two usually work their socks off every time they put on a club jersey.
