Man United is looking to improve the squad in various areas. Ole has got massive decisions to make in this transfer window.
Raul Jimenez has been the best player for Wolves all season long. Jimenez was the costliest player in the club’s transfer history. Wolves were able to secure him from Benfica for a fee of £31.50 m.
But if this season has proved anything it’s that the investment in Jimenez paid off. Since joining the club Jimenez has scored 43 goals in 97 appearances for the club in all competitions.
This season he has 26 strikes and 10 assists to his name. It doesn’t really get much better than that. Jimenez is a proper no 9 who likes to involve in the buildup and create chances.
The player has attracted attention from Manchester United and Juventus. As per recent reports Wolves are closing on Braga’s Paulinho. He himself has had an impressive season and also is 2 years younger than Jimenez.
It looks like the club is preparing for Jimenez’s departure. Up until now, Manchester United were the favorites for Jimenez. But not it seems that the tale has taken another twist.
Juventus are looking to add him to their roster. And are willing to offer a handsome sum for acquiring his services. Jimenez too is eager for a move to a big club as he is someone who deserves to play at the top level of the game.
Juventus looking to cash in for Jimenez
According to the Spanish publication Marca, Juventus made an initial offer of £45 million for Jimenez. But Wolves were not willing to agree to this. And now Juventus are set to make a whopping offer of £72 million for the Mexican International.
However, the most obvious question is will Jimenez get enough game time at Juventus. Unless the club is willing to let go of Gonzalo Higuain it will be hard for Jimenez there. Mexico manager Gerardo Martino gave the following statement for Jimenez.
“Looking at it from the outside today I cannot see a specialist number nine like Raul at United,” “There are many forwards like Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and the boy who now plays as right-winger, Mason Greenwood but since Romelu Lukaku left I can’t see a pure number nine like Raul.
“At Juventus, he will have more of a fight because Cristiano Ronaldo shares the inside of the pitch with whoever plays alongside him, with Paulo Dybala or with Gonzalo Higuain and maybe he has a tougher fight there.”
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo gave his response to the situation. “It’s not an issue for us, we have a competition and a game to play. “We have a lot of things in front of us. It’s not the moment to think about anything else.”I’m sure Raul is totally, 100 percent focused on what he has to do at Wolves.
Although if Wolves decide to take up Juventus’s offer, Jimenez should be happy to join the Italians. They are one of the biggest clubs there are and most of all you get a chance to play with Cristiano Ronaldo. The upcoming weeks should reveal what’s in store for the Striker.
