Manchester City is all set to land the most wanted striker for a whooping record-breaking fee of £160million. The Premier League champions might also add one of their four stars in this deal to temp Tottenham Hotspur.
The Citizens are now in need of a goal-scoring striker upfront for their new campaign. Pep Guardiola’s side had a memorable season last time and managed a strong finish towards the end of the season. However, they lost one of their key players of the side over the decade.
Argentine forward Sergio Aguero decided to leave the club after spending ten years with the club. Aguero is now a Barcelona player, who will work alongside his international teammate Lionel Messi. Now, it’s a bigger task for Pep and co to find a replacement of Aguero’s caliber.
The Argentine had 184 goals to his name across all competitions for City in 275 appearances. The Spanish manager is now looking to sort out things in his attack and sign a big name. However, City has been quiet so far in this transfer window.
The English club is now on the lookout for a similar striker in the market. The media report in England suggests that City is keen to land Harry Kane from Spurs this summer. Kane himself made it clear earlier this summer about his decision to leave the club.
However, Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy wasn’t ready to allow Harry Kane to join their rivals. But, now there might be a big change in the plot as Spurs have come down to agree with the new offer from City.
Kane to earn £400,000 per week:
Spurs’ new sporting director Fabio Paratici was planning to build the side with their number nine. But, according to The Sun, Daniel Levy has given a green light for Harry Kane’s move to Spurs last week. This deal could benefit both sides as per the report.
Tottenham will earn more than what they earned for Gareth Bale’s move to Real Madrid back in 2013. The transfer involved in this deal is expected to be £160 million, which will be the biggest and record English transfer fee.
The current record fee is £89 million, which was done by their arch-rivals Manchester United to land Paul Pogba from Juventus. Harry Kane decided to leave the club in dreams of earning a silverware to his name. The striker came to this decision after the Spurs’ defeat against City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley.
City to add Brazilian star in deal for Kane
Harry Kane’s deal might be happening this summer after Spurs U-turned on their decision. The new offer from City could tempt Tottenham in allowing Kane to join the Citizens. However, Nuno Espirito Santo might miss Kane’s services in the upcoming season, who has been a leader over the years for Spurs.
As per reports, City is planning to add one of the four-star players in this deal for Harry Kane. The player in the deal will be permanently joining Spurs this summer. The player is expected to be Gabriel Jesus in the deal, who is also a forward.
The report also suggests that four players being rumored are Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Bernardo Silva, and Raheem Sterling. The Brazilian forward might become Kane’s successor at Spurs. While Kane will be earning around £400,000-per-week at the famous Etihad Stadium.
