The next season might see a lot of new faces in the Manchester City squad.
Manchester City are on their way to another league title. They still there in all competitions and Pep Guardiola has a chance to do a possible quadruple this season. It has really been a very good season for the club.
However, the next season will provide a new challenge for Pep. Sergio Aguero will be leaving the club at the season’s end. The club has got an extension for their star man Kevin De Bruyne.
However, Pep will have to find a way to add more firepower to his squad in the next window. Let’s have a look at the players who City could possibly leave Manchester City in the next window.
The Brazilian has been at the club for the past 8 years. Pep Guardiola has often gone out his way to praise the holding midfielder. But since the arrival of Rodri Fernandinho’s appearances have started drying up.
There is also the factor of him being 35 years old. Fernandinho is in the last year of his contract with City and there is still no news of an extension which could hint towards the player leaving the club when the season ends.
2. Eric Garcia
Eric Garcia is one of those players who has potential but hasn’t got enough game time under Pep. Barcelona made a £9m bid for Garcia which was rejected by Manchester City last time out.
Since it was evident that Garcia wanted to leave for Barcelona the youngster will now join the Catalans as a free agent. His contract with City will expire at the end of the season post which he will head for the Camp Nou as per the Mirror.
3. Benjamin Mendy
Mendy made the move from Monaco to City in 2017. The player has probably been the one bad signing for City under Pep Guardiola. Man City paid £52 million for Mendy’s services but he has failed to perform for them.
A combination of injuries with the competition of places at City has kept him out of the squad. Now with the availability of Zinchenko and Cancelo City could resort to selling him. The 26-year-old could fetch a good £20-25 million for the club.
4. Jack Harrison
Jack Harrison has been on the loan at Leeds for the last 3 seasons. The player has become one of the key pillars for the Marcelo Bielsa team. The club is looking for a permanent move for Harrison and there are talks going on for a £10 million deal.
5. Aro Muric
Aro Muric has been on loan for almost the entirety of his City career. Zac Steffen is now the official second-choice keeper for Pep and it looks like Muric’s time at the club is coming to an end. He is currently on loan at a Dutch club Willem II and will look to secure a permanent move.
6. Patrick Roberts
Roberts joined Manchester City in 2015 from Fulham as a 17-year-old in a £12 m deal. Since the last 7 seasons, the player has been repeatedly sending on loan spells. He will be returning to Man City at the season’s end and may look to finally leave the club permanently.
