Man United transfer news: The director of football at Manchester United, John Murtough and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are eyeing Erling Haaland as their No.1 transfer objective. But in the process, they might cancel out Ronaldo’s plan.
Manchester United have made a steady start this season with just two points behind the Blues. Chelsea are at the top of the table as we head into the International break. The Red Devils could have been on the top had they not lost at home to Aston Villa first and drawn with Everton. Ronaldo stormed off the pitch and into the tunnel with frustration.
Manchester United have spent a generous amount of money on their star transfers. They got in players like Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, and the prodigy son himself, Cristiano Ronaldo. But Old Trafford still awaits a trophy for the last five years.
Manchester United is most likely to sign Declan Rice in the January 2022 transfer window but their No.1 priority still remains of signing a new attacker.
Man United transfer news: United’s No.1 choice Erling Haaland
Edinson Cavani, 34 right now is likely to leave United as they have their eyes on Erling Haaland. The 21-year-old is a goal machine and all big clubs are want to get a hold of him.
The Norwegian had a marvellous season (2019-20) for Red Bull Salzburg when he hit 28 goals from 22 appearances. He was chased that time too by big clubs but he chose to sign for Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga giants had to just shed out €20m in January 2020.
He was up and running in the Bundesliga as well, scoring 13 goals from 15 appearances in the 2019-20 season. It was not the end of the road for him as he netted 27 times in the league. In total Haaland baged 41 goals. He still has a complete season ahead of him as he will bid goodbye to ‘The Black and Yellows’.
Erling Haaland’s agent Mino Raiola inserted a release clause of around £68m in his deal. The price tag surely is going to notch skyways in summer 2022. Many big clubs have their eyes laid on Erling, as Manchester Evening News claims Murtough and Solskjaer are in agreement that United should make the BVB star their top priority.
Ole Gunnar has managed Erling Haaland for two years during his time at Molde. He will be hopeful of striking a deal before other big European clubs.
Man United transfer news: Ronaldo wants his former Juventus teammate at Old Trafford
Cristiano Ronaldo wants the Red Devils to sign his former Juventus teammate in the form of Federico Chiesa. They have played together in Italy and could give United the edge. Chiesa scored 15 goals and had 11 assists in 46 games last season. This year he has netted two goals.
Ronaldo is reportedly urging Murtough and Solskjaer to make Chiesa their top target next summer. But Chiesa too is chased by Chelsea and Liverpool.
The relation with Ronaldo at his time at Juventus could prove to be beneficial in the signing of Federico Chiesa ahead of big clubs.
