Manchester United in contention to sign Matteo Guendouzi after midfielder’s fallout with Arteta.

Matteo Guendouzi has had a couple of tough weeks as there are increasing reports that the midfielder will not be an Arsenal player next season. The rumors have caught fire since Arsenal’s Premier League clash against Brighton. The French midfielder got involved in an ill-tempered altercation with Brighton’s Neal Maupay in their 2-1 loss.

Arteta was reportedly angry about Guendouzi provoking the Brighton player over the salaries. Moreover, he is also unhappy over the young midfielder’s careless behavior in Arsenal’s training. The Frenchman was spotted “dancing” unnecessarily during Arsenal’s training session last weak.

Since the news has broken that Guendouzi will be available in the market this summer, many clubs have come calling. Arsenal’s eternal rivals Manchester United have now shown their interest in signing the midfielder. United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer thinks the young midfielder can strengthen their midfield defensively.

Arsenal is also ready to hear any offers for Guendouzi, as the club has also made it clear that they have no problem with offloading the midfielder. This is evident as Arteta has started Matteo only 7 times since his appointment. It was the second time Arteta left him out of the matchday squad, against Southampton. But Arsenal won’t let their young prospect leave for a fee below £36 million. Matteo can bolster United already packed midfield of Pogba and Bruno Fernandes. The 21-year-old is a brilliant player at transition play and can settle well in the current United team.
