Man City transfer news: Manchester City have officially reached out to the super-agent Mino Raiola over the signing of Erling Haaland. The reigning Premier League champions are aiming at signing the striker before any other club.
Chelsea were the first club that showed interest in Haaland but Borussia Dortmund were adamant that they don’t want to sell him. Then the Blues shifted their interest in Inter Milan’s Romelu Lukaku and signed him for a club-record fee of £97.5m.
Currently, City have their eyes set on the Norwegian and hold an advantage over other clubs. Haaland’s father used to play for Manchester City between 2000 and 2003. He could play an important role in convincing Erling to make a move to the Etihad.
According to a report from The Times, Manchester City are due to hold a meet with Raiola next year to discuss a potential deal for Haaland.
Both Raiola and senior Haaland have met with Barcelona and Real Madrid officials earlier this year. But the Los Blancos hold a dominant position and can give City a run for their money in the next transfer window.
Edinson Cavani is set to leave the club which gives United a clean shot at Haaland. His contract expires at the end of the campaign and will be returning back to South America.
Man City transfer news: Cityzens switch interest from Kane to Haaland
Manchester City were after the Tottenham captain Harry Kane in the last transfer window but City’s meeting with Raiola will bring a sigh of relief for the Spurs fans.
Pep Guardiola was certain of signing the England captain but Daniel Levy didn’t let him leave. Now City has diverted their interest to Erling Haaland. Tottenham don’t want Kane to leave the club and want him to win major silverware.
Tottenham’s technical director Fabio Paratici is confident that Kane wants to stay at the North London club anyways. He added, “Harry Kane loves Tottenham. Weâve decided to keep Harry last summer to start the rebuilding, and weâre happy with our choice,”. “Thereâs no need for any new talks with Harry. He knows how to share the sense of belonging to Spurs.”
If Erling Haaland comes to Manchester City then probably they will become one hell of a force. Plus the Spanish manager in the form of Pep Guardiola knows how to get the best out of his players.
Manchester City already have star players in their ranks and with the joining of Haaland, they will surely become unstoppable.
But the likes of other big European clubs will also look to seal the deal for Haaland as we all know he is a goal-scoring machine. So there is tough competition for City out there if they have to sign Erling Haaland.
