Liverpool vs Chelsea Pre-match Analysis:

It is unlikely that there will be any surprises when it comes to the formations. Liverpool will go with their standard 4-3-3. Chelsea under Tuchel have played a 3-4-3 formation. The Reds will try to bombard the Blues with crosses from the wide areas. Not only this, the switch of play from one full-back to another will be crucial. Chelsea have tried to counter-press teams and play on counterattacks. Tuchel is aware of the Anfield magic. Though the fans won’t be there but it is still a special place. The London giants will sit back and let the home side dictate the game.

Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool against Chelsea

Their chances for goals will come on counter attacks. It is possible that Kante could be employed to stop Thiago from running the game. While on counterattacks, Chelsea will try to target him because of his lack of pace. As Thiago will try to run the game in the midfield, Firmino will drop deep to help him build up. If Chelsea are successful in stopping this build-up through Firmino and Thiago, they will have a chance in the game. There will be times when Chelsea will be in possession as well. They have often struggled to open up defenses and Liverpool will be even tougher to open up than their previous opponents.
