English side Liverpool will need to trigger a release clause of £34m in order to secure the deal for the German midfielder. The Reds are keen to bolster their midfield set-up after a disappointing campaign for Jurgen Klopp and co.

Former Dortmund boss wants to overhaul problems with some good signings in summer. The club might also see some outgoing players in the upcoming summer transfer window. The management is ready to allocate funds to bolster their centre-half area.

Liverpool’s current season dipped off in the middle after major injury concerns in the squad. However, Klopp did manage to rotate his squad well in order to keep the momentum going. But, the side has struggled in the recent weeks, which has brought them down in the Premier league table.

The Reds need to put a real fight in order to fetch a Champions League spot for the next season. The Merseyside club is currently fifth in the table with 60 points from 35 games this term. Fellow London club West Ham United are chasing them from behind for the Europa League spot.

The defending champions couldn’t repeat the same this season amidst a number of injuries. Dutch defender Virgil Van Dijk’s injury is a major blow for Klopp. To make it worse, he also lost Joel Matip and Joe Gomez with injury concerns. This made him play Jordan Henderson at the centre-back role.

While Fabinho also played at the back for a number of occasions. Klopp did give chances for his reserve players but still didn’t help him much. January loan signing Ozan Kabak also couldn’t make much of an impact at the defensive line.

According to Sport Bild, Liverpool have been told they can sign Florian Neuhaus this summer by triggering a £34m release clause. The Merseyside club is in need of a central midfielder with Gini Wijnaldum set to leave Anfield as a free agent in the summer.

The Reds have been long-time admirers of this German midfielder and have now got a green light to sign him. However, the money involved in this deal is too big for the club in the current situation. However, if the player has the interest to move to Anfield, the price might possibly reduce a bit down.

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are also showing interest in signing Florian Neuhaus. However, the club has distanced themselves in order to save funds for Dayot Upamecano. Bayern is likely to spend around a £40million for the highly-rated centre-back from Leipzig.

Falk confirms Reds interest for Neuhaus

German journalist Christian Falk also confirms Liverpool’s interest for the box-to-box midfielder. The German midfielder has made 36 appearances for Gladbach this season and has seven goals, eight assists to his name.

“It’s true that they’ve been watching the player for a while,” Falk told BILD. “The whole thing is not yet concrete according to our information. But it can, of course, become concrete, and he asks to play there.

“Neuhaus has an exit clause of €40million, which could be triggered in the summer. Dortmund has distanced itself after the [Marco] Rose transfer and will not take any player from its team. Bayern has to save money after the €42.5million transfer of [Dayot] Upamecano. “That means it must be another league if Neuhaus wants to change, and there is the Premier League and Liverpool, of course.”
