Liverpool ‘open talks’ over top target’s deal

After capturing the services of Fabinho and Keita, Liverpool has begun the talks over a move for Xherdan Shaqiri, who is reportedly interested in move to Anfield.

Liverpool has had the best start to transfer window than any other Premier League side as they usurped the signatures of highly rated midfield cameos, Fabinho and Keita. And their stunning summer continues as the Merseysiders seem to seal the services of Stoke City’s winger Xherden Shaqiri. According to various reports, Liverpool has begun the talks over the Swiss wingers deal who has a release clause of £13 million.

The Alpine Messi seems to have found some consistency at last

Shaqiri was heavily linked with a potential move to Anfield last month but with the Swiss international was at the World Cup, no progress over a deal had been made. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has identified the Switzerland winger as one who can inject pinch of quality and bolster his attacking options, while the presence of a release clause in Shaqiri’s contract makes a deal a financially attractive one.

Former Bayern Munich man became successful to find the net for 7 times for relegated Stoke City and perhaps was the performer of Switzerland in the World Cup. Following Stoke’s relegation to the Championship, the 26-year-old expressed a desire to remain in Premier League and recently stated it is “no secret” he will leave the bet365 Stadium.

Shaqiri would not be seen as someone to regularly feature in Reds XI but certainly gives Jurgen Klopp a variety of options in the front line. Adding the Switzerland international can provide much-needed cover for star forward Mohamed Salah in particular.

Author’s Take:

Recruitment of Shquiri could prove to be an ideal acquisition in many ways with respect to his vast experience of playing in several top leagues and of course his much cheaper release clause. He would be cherry on the top of the cake for Reds’ sizzling forward line and moreover, he is capable to work as a perfect stockpile in crucial and decisive fixtures.
