Real Betis centre-back Aissa Mandi was one of the favorites in the wish list of Anfield. Liverpool tracked the player from the past as a right prospect in the backline. The defensive line of Jurgen Klopp got urgent requirements due to the sudden injury blow.
The Algerian defender is out of contract in Betis this summer. As per the latest reports, the summer transfer window has added multiple teams to the interested parties in the defender.
French side Olympique Lyon and Serie A leaders Inter Milan are competing for the defender. And that changed the plans of Anfield on the case. Liverpool were desperately searching for a defender in the January window. Premier League champions caught in a serious crisis in the midst of the season by injuries. Losing out the focal point, Virgil Van Dijk affected the momentum of the defensive line and Klopp struggled to make it up.
