Liverpool completes signing of €50 million Monaco midfielder

English giants Liverpool have shockingly completed the signing of AS Monaco and Brazil midfielder Fabinho for around €50 million transfer fee.

The Reds’ transfer business has already begun with stunning style as they have become successful to capture Fabinho with beating their rivals Manchester United for the target. The Brazilian midfielder has penned a five year deal with the club. From absolutely nowhere, the news came that Liverpool and Monaco were in talks and within few hours the signing was completed and announced by Liverpool.

The Brazilian midfielder is set to join the Reds on 1st July will be available for the pre-season. Fabinho spoke to Liverpoolfc.com after the completion of the move –

“I am really excited about this move.

“This is something that I always wanted – this is a giant of a team. The infrastructures of the club look exceptional.”

“A football club of this size coming after my services, I didn’t have to think that much about coming over.

“I will try to create my own history at this football club. Hopefully, on a personal level, I’m able to win titles with this club.

“I will try to grow and learn and improve myself, and to be part of the club’s history.”

The 24 year old midfielder is set to replace Emre Can, who is heavily linked with move away from Merseyside. Also Fabinho will put question on role of captain Jordan Henderson. In 2017-18 campaign, Fabinho has played for the French club AS Monaco for 34 times and has become successful to find net for 7 times and made 3 assists.

With Keita set to join the Reds along with Fabinho on 1st July, Liverpool midfield will undergo an industrial revolution and ultimately will increase the chances of Klopp’s mighty Reds.

Author’s Take :

I think Fabinho will play as deep lying midfielder or holding midfielder and will also try to play a ‘two pronged role’ i.e. he will have contribution in attack and as well as in defense. With Guinea international Naby Keita set to join and Lyon playmaker Nabil Fekir heavily linked, Reds’ upcoming season looks very exciting.
