Latest: Chelsea star declines transfer rumours

Chelsea forward has had a tough time at Stamford Bridge and has been linked with a move away. But, in a recent development, he has declined any transfer speculation.

Swapping of a large number of stars are speculated in this summer transfer window and Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata is also in the list. He has underperformed in his debut season with the Blues and is speculated to move to another club, Juventus being the favourites.

Recently, Morata was spotted in Turin which spiced up his move away from Stamford Bridge. Transferred from Real Madrid in 2017, Morata started well for Chelsea in their pursuit to defend their Premier League title but a horrific patch derailed both Morata and Chelsea ending their hopes of Champions League as well. Morata, who performed well for Spain in the World Cup qualifiers was left out of the 23 men national squad for the World Cup due to his poor form.

Things seemed pretty clear about his transfer but in a recent report (via metro.co), it has been claimed that he is not leaving Chelsea. “We’re here to attend a birthday party,” Morata told SportMediaset. ‘Right now I don’t know anything about my future. Right now I’m just thinking about my holidays.’

Morata’s future at the club could hinge on whether Chelsea sack Conte. The Italian has been rumoured for a move away as well which has made things more complex at Stamford Bridge. It is to be seen what unfolds for the blues in this summer transfer window.

Author’s Take :

Alvaro Morata has had a dismal season with Chelsea and is one of the reasons for the team’s failure this season. It’d have been worse of the team hadn’t won the FA Cup. He definitely needs to come back strongly to have a say in the team. As far as Juventus is concerned, they too are suffering from the poor form of Higuain but they have the results in their favour.

They need a more established striker, someone better than Morata.
