Kolkata Knight Riders’ spinner Kuldeep Yadav has opened up about two toughest batsman to bowl at in IPL. The Kolkata-based franchise didn’t get the best of start in on going Indian Premier League season. The side is currently placed at fifth position with just two points under their belt.
The side has failed to deliver good performance with the bat, especially the middle order. English skipper Eoin Morgan is leading the side this season, who himself yet to showcase his ability wih the bat. Their only win so far this term came in their opening game against Sunrisers.
However, Knight Riders had two games in their hand, but failed to capitalise the momentum. West Indian star Andre Russell has also not impressed the fans yet with his bat. Although, he managed a fifer against the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the second game.
Morgan’s side will face-off against in-form Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium in the second game of double header. The franchise is expected to make some changes to their starting eleven to turn their path to winning ways. However, CSK has a set team and will be tough to defeat them.
Kuldeep Yadav confident of featuring in KKR’s playing XI:
The 26-year-old chinaman bowler is also struggling for form, just like his fellow all-rounder Russell. Impressive performances from Tamil Nadu mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy has taken over his place in the starting eleven. However, Kuldeep is confident about claiming his place in the starting eleven.
“Only 3 matches have happened so far. I’m hoping to get a place in the final XI soon, and I will perform well”, Kuldeep told PTI Bhusha in a recent interview. The leggie also revealed about his toughest opponents to bowl to in Indian Premier League. According to him, RCB’s AB De Villiers and Mumbai’s Rohit Sharma are both tough customers to bowl at.
“I find it difficult to bowl against AB de Villiers and Rohit Sharma. De Villiers can smash the ball in any corner of the ground, while Rohit has plenty of time.” Further, he also mentioned the name of two legends of modern day cricket Chris Gayle and MS Dhoni.
“If we look from the beginning, then MS Dhoni and Chris Gayle are truly the legends of the IPL. They have been performing well since the first season,” he opined.
