Juventus defender Stephan Lichtsteiner has opened up on a move to English side Arsenal stating that a deal has yet not been completed.
Arsenal is in dire need of leaders at the club especially after iconic manager Arsene Wenger announced his resignation from the North London giants. However, the club is ready to fill in some space at the club with another veteran in the form of right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner.
Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin has come under heavy scrutiny over the past season with his performances as well as taking a dig at the loyal supporters at Arsenal. The Spaniard is keen to make a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer with Juventus keen on his services.
A swap deal is well and truly on the cards between the Old Lady and the Gunners with the two right backs to switch clubs this transfer window. But the 34-year-old Lichtsteiner, who has set his intentions on leaving Turin, has revealed that Arsenal is yet to complete negotiations between the defender.
Lichtsteiner Opens Up On Arsenal Deal-
According to Standard Sport, when asked by reporters about a possible move to Arsenal the Swiss international replied that no deal is complete as of yet and also stated that football is very interesting because of the rumors, “Nothing is finished yet, I cannot comment on the negotiations. As long as nothing is completed, that is always interesting in football. I think we all know that”
Lichtsteiner also added that he is unsure whether a decision will be finalized before or after the World Cup begins. However, Arsenal will be hoping to wrap up a deal for the veteran defender who has won seven consecutive Serie A titles in a row with Juventus ahead of the major tournament.
I think Lichtsteiner would be a great signing for Arsenal but the only worry is the fact that he is already 34 years old. Although he is always hard working and willing to do his defensive duties well, Arsenal may not have the best of the experienced right-back.
