Juventus are now actively looking to sign a new striker in this transfer window. With just a few days left in the transfer window, the Bianconeri have a tough task in front of them. This is because only a few days are left in the transfer window.
Currently, they only have Alvaro Morata as a recognised striker. In recent years he hasn’t proven himself to be a reliable goalscorer. The Spaniard is still inconsistent and it is clear that they need another striker.
However, this is not the only reason why Juventus need another striker. Last season Morata’s lack of goals was often compensated by Cristiano Ronaldo. But now the player himself has joined Manchester United.
Juventus at work for a striker
According to Calciomercato, the Bianconeri have already started meeting with Mino Riola. The Turin giants want to sign former striker Moise Kean from Everton. They are also said to be waiting for a Manchester City offer involving Gabriel Jesus. However, Pep Guardiola does not want to sell the Brazilian striker.
This home return for Kean is said to be on the agenda. The Italian came through the youth ranks of the Bianconeri. But in 2019 Juventus sold him to Everton for a €39.5 million deal. Last season he was on loan at PSG and now he has returned to PSG.
Not only this another old Juventus transfer saga could revive. The Turin giants are also considering the idea of bringing Mauro Icardi. The former Inter Milan striker currently plays for PSG.
Other alternatives for Juventus
The same report from Calciomercato states that the dream signing for the Old Lady would be Erling Haaland. However, it is extremely unlikely that they will be able to convince Dortmund to sell him now.
Even a financially strong club like Chelsea could not afford to sign Haaland this summer. While the other alternative for Juventus is Everton winger Richarlison.
Where Juventus should actually put their money?
It would perhaps be better if the Turing giants actually tried to sign Aubameyang. The Gabon international is very much capable of filling the void left by Ronaldo. This is largely in terms of the goals and not in terms of the influence outside the pitch. Although a player of Ronaldo’s calibre can’t be completely replaced on the pitch but some gap could be closed.
This is because Aubameyang is now 31 years old and he is at his peak. The former Dortmund forward is a proven goalscorer. In 150 appearances for Arsenal, he has already scored 88 goals. Morata can’t be expected to lead the line, while Aubameyang even managed to become the Bundesliga top scorer despite Lewandoski’s presence in 2017.
He is also the captain of the Gunners and currently, Juventus will need leaders in their squad. Though it will be difficult to sign him from Arsenal. However, if Bianconeri can convince the player to sign for them he could push them to agree on a fee with Old Lady.
12th Man Opinion
It is likely that there will be a mixed reaction from the fans. Some would want to see him return but some would not. This is because he is likely to cost a lot of money and he is yet to prove himself in a tough league like the Premier League.
