Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on pushing Anthony Martial out the exit door at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils initially signed Anthony Martial from Ligue 1 side AS Monaco in 2015 for a then record transfer fee for a teenager at a price of £36 million. And after a dream debut with Manchester United, coming off the bench scoring against fierce rivals Liverpool, it has not quite gone as it planned for the next ‘Thierry Henry’.
Martial has fallen further down the pecking order at United after January arrival Alexis Sanchez has been used regularly by Mourinho. The Portuguese boss has preferred to use Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford, and Jesse Lingard ahead of the French star leaving Martial out in the cold. Martial has managed nine goals in the Premier League this season and is set to quit Old Trafford in the summer.
Clubs Keen On Martial-
The 22-year-old winger has performed exceedingly well despite limited game time on the pitch but off late has been an unused substitute in big matches. According to Italian news outlet Tuttosport, Serie A champions Juventus are interested in resurrecting Martial’s career.
Fierce Premier League rivals Chelsea have also been keeping an eye on the young Frenchman as Hazard’s replacement; the Belgian is bound to exit Stamford Bridge for Real Madrid at the end of this season. North London giants Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping tabs on Martial.
The Only Thing That Could Keep Martial At United-
Despite, 55-year-old boss Mourinho stating that he has no problem with Martial wanting to leave the Manchester United, Ed Woodward from the transfer board is a huge admirer of the young winger and wants Martial to remain at the club.
I feel that United could be making a huge mistake by letting Martial leave the club. However, it would be a brand new start for the young star who can redeem himself elsewhere, surely he will be tipped for success at a different club.
