The day has finally come. The intriguing Indian Premier League is all set to light up fireworks from today onwards. 13 seasons of the IPL have had countless drama, hilarious moments, nail-biting encounters.
Mumbai Indians can pat themselves on the back and proudly say that they are the most successful side in IPL. The most decorated club in IPL has won 5 accolades to their name. Chennai Super Kings won 3 titles.
On the other end of the spectrum, Kolkata Knight Riders won 2 titles so far. Rajasthan Royals, Deccan Chargers (now defunct franchise), Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to win one title each.
Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals are yet to win a title. RCB made it into the final on 3 occasions whereas Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals qualified for the final only once.
However, it will be quite interesting to see which team would come out on top this time. There is no home advantage to any of the teams in the league. The fans might get a perfect dosage of entertainment.
Wasim Jaffer comes up with an interesting tweet for fans
As we are heading to the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League, former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer decided to have some fun on Twitter. Popularly known as the ‘meme king’, Jaffer came up with an interesting post for the fans.
Just an hour ago, the 43-year-old posted a tweet and asked his fans and followers to guess his player to watch out for tonight’s clash. The defending champions MI will lock horns with RCB today.
The match will kick off at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Ahead of the match, Jaffer wants his followers to guess the right player. Jaffer’s post went viral in no time as fans came up with answers.
Fans crack the code
Jaffer posted a picture of a Flamingo, a type of swimming bird standing on one leg in the water. Since the former Indian opener already gave a clue in the form of a picture, it was so easy for the fans to figure out the right answer.
“Guess my player to watch out for tonight. I’ll reveal the player at 6 pm, but let’s see how many decode it before that😉 #MIvRCB #IPL2021,” Jaffer wrote on his official Twitter handle.
Meanwhile, a majority of the fans cracked the code quite easily. They even retweeted with a picture of Trent Boult standing exactly in this pose during the Test match against Australia.
IPL fans are eagerly waiting for the tournament as it is just hours away from getting underway. MI have an upper head over RCB in the overall head to head encounters. MI won 17 games while RCB won 10 games.
