German behemoths FC Bayern Munich have also been linked with a move for the Manchester City midfielder.
Manchester City midfielder Leroy Sane was linked with a move to Bayern Munich in the previous summer transfer window. He was expected to join the German giants in the summer. However, an injury the midfielder suffered back then forced Bayern to put off the move. But the Bundesliga giants still reportedly seem to be interested in signing the player. Latest reports, however, suggest that they will likely face competition from Italian side Juventus.
According to reports in Calcio Mercato, Juventus are currently monitoring Sane’s recovery from the injury. Reports indicate they will then consider making a move for the 24-year-old German international.
The attacking midfielder joined Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in 2016 from German side Schalke 04. Sane has since gone on to play more than 130 appearances for the Sky Blues. He has also scored 39 goals for the defending Premier League champions ever since he joined.
Sane has also featured for Germany national football team. He has made 21 appearances for the national team and has scored 5 goals.
His performances at City have been impressive and there is no doubt he is a world-class midfielder. He was close to joining Bayern last summer and he might end up joining the same club next summer.
Leroy Sane is a great player we are interested in
Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has said Leroy Sane is a player they are interested in. He said [ via Goal.com], “Leroy Sane is a great player that we are interested in, which is a well-known fact. Now we have to see how he comes back after his injury.”
Meanwhile, Juventus already have a star-studded midfield department. They have the likes of Adrien Rabiot, Miralem Pjanic, Aaron Ramsey etc in midfield.
If the Old Lady decides to make a move for the midfielder and if the German decides to join the Italian behemoths, he will presumably find it difficult to earn playing minutes. However, a move cannot be completely ruled out. If he joins the Serie A league leaders, he will certainly bring more quality to the Juventus midfield.
