Inside Futbol has confirmed that Serie A giants AS Roma have now joined Chelsea and a host of other clubs in the race to sign midfielder Jean Seri, in the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old superstar is a wanted man and is on the radar of multiple top European clubs, with the Romans now looking to sign him as well.
Like a host of other clubs across the continent, the Italian outfit is looking to bring in more stars and are now considering the Nice man as a player that they would want to sign.
With that being said, they will face competition from the Blues, who are also looking to add more quality to their squad in the upcoming days, after having failed to finish in the top four this season.
Conte is all set to leave the club as well and this could mean that a lot of new players might be signed before and after the World Cup.
The player has a €35m release clause in his current deal and though he would not really be a great fit for the Romans, they would be ready to take the risk, despite the fact that his resale value wouldn’t be very high.
With that being said, the new manager’s appointment would have a crucial part to play in that and it will be interesting to see now, which club he actually ends up joining.
Seri is a quality player and is 26 at present. He will want to move to a bigger club than the French outfit for whom he is playing at present and make a name for himself, with his skills and ability. For that purpose, he might be thinking of a move away and could sign for Chelsea in the current transfer window.
A deal would benefit both the player and the club, as the Londoners would fortify their midfield and Seri would get the opportunity to win some major titles in the days to come.
