Ajinkya Rahane drew plaudits for his fantastic captaincy during India’s tour of Australia. The 32-year-old stalwart led the team from the front in the second, third and fourth Test in Virat Kohli’s absence.
Rahane not only skippered the team well but also played quite well with the bat. Under his captaincy, Team India went on to win the Test series by 2-1. India lost the first Test but made a comeback in the second Test.
India won the second Test and settled for a pulsating draw in the third Test. However, Team India pulled off a series decider at The Gabba and breached the fortress. Rahane didn’t lose even a single Test as captain.
Meanwhile, Rahane is prepping for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The stalwart is expected to draw the attention of the cricket fraternity this time around. The IPL 2021 will kick off on April 9, Friday in Chennai.
Rahane and Ashwin engage in light banter
Players from all teams have been preparing for the next season. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals’ player Ajinkya Rahane has also been intensely hitting the drills with an aim to perform well in the 14th edition of the tournament.
Taking some time off the field, the 32-year-old took to his official Instagram handle and posted a picture. The veteran cricketer shared a stylish post of himself with his fans and followers on the Instagram platform.
Rahane looked so cool and stylish in that throwback picture. The old picture also went viral in no time on social media. Fans couldn’t stop talking about the cricketer as they dropped interesting remarks in the comments section.
Ajinkya Rahane posted the candid picture along with the caption which reads: “Back from the days out of the bubble, when getting ready and posing for pictures was a thing!”
The veteran off-spinner wrote: “Why so serious buddy? Where is that million dollar smile??” Rahane quickly responded to the off-spinner by saying: “that comes with joining you in the bubble.”
Ajinkya looks forward to a good season
Rahane plied his trade for Rajasthan Royals in the 2019 edition of the IPL. However, he failed to deliver the goods. The Royals traded the stalwart to Delhi Capitals prior to IPL 2020 season.
But sadly, Rahane didn’t perform well in the last season. He aggregated just 113 runs at a poor batting average of 14.12 and a strike rate of 105.60. However, Rahane will be looking forward to delivering the much-needed amends this time.
