Trolling is a common thing these days and more so when it comes to social media. Many posts circulate platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter mocking celebrities and sportspersons. In India, these trolls target the cricketers on several occasions every time they falter in their careers.
ASHOK DINDA AND TROLLING
Bengal fast bowler Ashok Dinda has been one such cricketer to face several trolls on a regular basis. In IPL, whenever a bowler spills runs, it is said that he belongs from the Ashok Dinda Academy. This is very derogatory for any bowler and Dinda has had to face the same.
Dinda has had a fairly successful career in domestic cricket for Bengal. However, in IPL, his contributions have not been that great. Dinda has played for five different franchisees till 2017 on a regular basis.
These include teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kolkata Knight Riders, Rising Pune Supergiant, and Pune Warriors.
ASHOK DINDA TAKE ON THE TROLLS
The veteran Bengal bowler has had to say a number of things about these trolls over time. He even posted about his own achievements and spoke about his sheer hard work.
However, his words seem to have failed to work as people continue trolling him for the way he used to leak runs on a few occasions. Whenever a bowler gives away runs, he is referred to be associated with the Ashok Dinda academy. This is indeed very derogatory for the bowler.
ISURU UDANA’S HEARTFELT MESSAGE
Sri Lanka pacer Isuru Udana has come up in support of the Bengal bowler Dinda. After the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians, Udana posted a heartfelt message on Instagram about Dinda.
The post read, “This man got more than 400 wickets in first class. Never judge someone without knowing the whole story. You may think you understand, but you don’t.”
The post focused on the lack of respect and taste of the people who are trolling Dinda via social media posts. It also spoke about the sheer hard work of the Bengal speedster and his dedication towards his career.
A GLIMPSE OF DINDA’S CAREER
Ashok Dinda has an enviable record while playing for Bengal in the Indian domestic cricket circuit. He has taken 339 wickets in Ranji Trophy and has been a match-winner in all sense for his team.
A veteran of 420 matches for Bengal, Dinda has also made 13 appearances for the Indian cricket team in his brief international career. He also represented India in 9 T20I matches.
Playing for the Men in Blue, Dinda scalped 12 wickets at an economy rate of 6.18 in his ODI career. In T20I’s, the Bengal speedster clinched 17 wickets at an average of 14.41 and it is nothing short of impressive.
