Royal Challengers Bangalore became the first team to win four games in the trot. The way that captain Virat Kohli led the team has been well and truly admirable.
With players like Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Harshal Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal in their ranks, RCB have by far dominated the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League.
However, they couldn’t replicate the success formula against Chennai Super Kings on Sunday. RCB bowlers were tonked to all parts of the ground, courtesy Ravindra Jadeja’s 62 off 28 balls.
The all-rounder smacked as many as 4 fours and 5 sixes in his stay at the crease. The 32-year-old showcased his mettle when he hit 37 runs in an over off Harshal Patel’s bowling.
Jadeja smashed 5 sixes and 1 boundary in the last over and steered CSK to 191/4 in 20 overs. RCB failed to ace the run-chase as they could score 122/9 in 20 overs. RCB lost their first game of this season by 69 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja was named the man of the match for his superb performance against RCB. He also took 3 important wickets to his name and conceded 3/13. Jadeja got rid of Washington Sundar, AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell.
Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson opt out of IPL 2021
In breaking news, Australian bowlers namely Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson have pulled out of the rest of the IPL due to personal reasons. Royal Challengers Bangalore confirmed the development via their official Twitter handle on Monday. Before this Ashwin from Delhi Capitals and Andrew Tye from Rajasthan Royals also withdrew due to personal reasons.
RCB roped in Rs 1.5 crore at the mini IPL auction whereas they bought Richardson for Rs 4 crore. The pacer Richardson played just 1 game for the franchise against Rajasthan Royals. On the other hand, Zampa couldn’t break into the playing XI this season despite the spin-friendly conditions in Chennai.
