Chennai Super Kings have had enough already in the last season of the Indian Premier League. They finished 7th in the IPL 2020 points table at the United Arab Emirates.
With just 6 wins and 8 defeats, they failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time in their history. Nobody expected the Super Kings to perform this badly.
However, they ensured to sort out things in the mini-IPL auction in Chennai. They bolstered their arsenal by roping in the right players. They locked horns with Delhi Capitals in their opening game.
But, it wasn’t the kind of start they had hoped for. They batted really well against Delhi Capitals but they failed to defend the total. As a result, they kick-started their campaign with a defeat.
However, they showed their true colours in the upcoming games. In fact, the yellow brigade went on the rampage and wrecked teams with relative ease.
MS Dhoni’s side got the better of Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore to secure 4 wins on the trot. They are currently second in the IPL 2021 points table.
Jason Behrendorff completes quarantine
Australian pacer Jason Behrendorff is ready to train with the Chennai Super Kings now. He has finished his quarantine procedure after his arrival in India as a replacement for Josh Hazlewood. The latter opted out of the IPL due to bio-bubble fatigue and to focus on the Australian domestic season.
CSK have successfully roped in Jason Behrendoff as his replacement. The lanky pacer took to his Instagram stories and posted a picture alongside a swimming pool. He confirmed that his quarantine period came to a close. He wrote, “Great to be out of quarantine! Can’t wait for training tonight” and tagged the CSK Twitter handle.
