IPL 2021: The fourteenth edition of the IPL is close to its end. The league matches are going to get over on Friday after the two simultaneous matches. And the playoffs are going to begin on Sunday. Four teams will fight for the coveted IPL trophy.
However, the IPL moving to UAE has not been very helpful to many teams. Various teams have performed very badly in the second phase.
The primary reason for it is the dry and slow wickets of the UAE. Moreover, due to the dry nature of the weather, the pitch remains the same throughout the year. There is no relief whatsoever for the batsman.
However, the Middle Eastern pitches are a paradise for spinners. The pitches there are more helpful compared to even the pitches at Chennai. That is why various teams have struggled in this IPL.
The five-time IPL champions and the defending champions, Mumbai too have suffered due to the slow pitches. However, Chennai Super Kings have gained a lot since they like to play on such surfaces.
But Sunrisers Hyderabad has been the worst team in this season. They have had a very disappointing season. And things were not looking good for the orange army from the beginning itself.
Moreover, there was an internal rift going on between Sunrisers Hyderabad management and David Warner. The Australian international was not happy with the behaviour of the management who removed him from the captaincy.
And right from then the season and the performance just went downwards. David Warner was even dropped from the 15 man squad and he was forced to stay at his hotel room itself.
IPL 2021: David Warner’s final goodbye to SRH fans
Moreover, Sunrisers Hyderabad has chosen Manish Pandey as their captain in their last game of the season. In the game against Mumbai Indians, Manish Pandey was seen at the toss and he said that Kane Williamson is out due to an injury.
However, SRH has put Manish Pandey right into the foray after dropping him from so many matches. This just goes on to show the level of hatred formed between David Warner and SRH management.
Even the Australian international has hinted at his SRH exit by posting a heartfelt message to the SRH fans. This post could mean a goodbye from him to the SRH fans and the SRH franchise. The Australian international would have never thought such an end to his SRH career.
However, David Warner will certainly be in demand in the mega IPL auction which is just months away. And with the addition of two new teams, David Warner will invite high bids from various franchises. It will be interesting to see which team lands the firebrand and attacking batsman for the upcoming seasons.
