Twitter India commits a hilarious mistake by placing the CSK jersey emoji beside RCB. CSK and RCB take a hilarious dig at Twitter India
The start of the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is just a few days away. The IPL 2021 will begin on April 9. The defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) will face off against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Chennai in the opening clash of the tournament.
The excitement of the tournament is gradually reaching its peak. Twitter India decided to release emojis for all the teams to attract the attention of the users. However, they committed a hilarious blunder while doing so. They placed the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) jersey emoji for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The respective fans spotted the mistake in no time and started to troll the franchises. The official Twitter handle of CSK also took a hilarious dig at Twitter and RCB.
While replying to a fan who asked if CSK are lending their jersey to RCB, CSK wrote, “Ok. We understand #yellove is everywhere but.. hey @Twitter.”
Later, CSK also took a hilarious dig at RCB with a meme involving the superstar Rajnikanth. First, RCB did not realise Twitter’s mistake that they have placed CSK’s jersey emoji beside RCB.
They used the #PlayBold hashtag and tweeted “The passion, the intensity and the will to #PlayBold! Not long before we don again the Red and Gold!” Fans made them realise Twitter’s mistake.
RCB then realised the mistake of Twitter India and aimed a sly dig at them. They asked if Twitter India needs new Tech engineers and Bangalore is the place for them to find out.
“Hey @Twitter @TwitterIndia, looks like you need better tech engineers. Bengaluru is the right place to start hiring. #WhatsWithYourEmojis,” they tweeted.
IPL 2021: Fans waiting for RCB and CSK clash
RCB will start their IPL 2021 campaign with the opening match against Mumbai Indians on April 9. Last year, RCB played in the eliminators and suffered a defeat against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). They will be going hard this year for their maiden IPL title.
In the auction, RCB spent a whopping amount on Glenn Maxwell and Kyle Jamieson. They have a well-balanced squad this year and their batting is set for this season. However, it will be interesting to see if Jamieson does justice to his huge price tag. RCB will be looking to start the tournament on a bright note by beating the defending champions Mumbai Indians in the opening match.
MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super Kings will face off against Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 25 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both of them will lock horns against each other in the return leg on May 23. That will also be the last league game of the season.
Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni share a great bonding. Fans are excited to see both of them face each other on the cricket field. CSK have had better results against RCB in the last few seasons. However, RCB won one of the two matches against CSK last seasons and will be hoping to do the double this year.
