IPL 2021: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have had an impressive season in this edition of the IPL. However, they crashed out of the IPL after Kolkata Knight Riders gave them a fine beating.
However, the Virat Kohli led team were in a completely different form this season compared to the other seasons. They have looked sharp and brilliant in the batting, bowling and fielding departments.
Moreover, Virat Kohli’s captaincy calls, field placements, decision making capability has improved a lot. Hence we have witnessed the change in destiny for the bold army this season.
But the South Indian team did not perform when it mattered the most. Royal Challengers Bangalore completely choked it up against Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Moreover, they played completely different forms of cricket as compared to the whole season. And barring Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal nobody crossed the 30 run mark in terms of the individual score. And hence KKR gave a crushing defeat to them.
However, Chennai Super Kings are already in the finals and they will face someone from Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals on Friday. The grand final of this edition will be played at the Dubai International Stadium.
But the excitement among cricket fans has already started for the next edition of the IPL in 2022. The Indian Premier League tournament will return to India in the next edition and fans are eager to witness the biggest cricketing festival.
However, there is another edition for the excitement. The BCCI is going to add two new teams and the process will formally begin on October 25. The two most likely owners are going to be the Adani Group and the RP Sanjeev Goenka group.
IPL 2021: Brian Lara suggests his 3 retentions for RCB
Meanwhile, the BCCI will also conduct a mega auction for all the teams so every team can start from scratch. However, the franchises will be allowed to retain three of their previous players.
West Indies legend and cricket expert Brian Lara has suggested his three retentions for Royal Challengers Bangalore ahead of the mega auction. He choose Virat Kohli as his first pick and termed it as a no-brainer decision for the franchise.
His next two picks consisted of Glenn Maxwell and Devdutt Padikkal. Brian Lara sees enormous potential in Devdutt Padikkal and he is already a fan of the Indian youngsters batting skills. Moreover, he also praised Glenn Maxwell for an incredible IPL season this year.
However, Brian Lara pointed out that Ab de Villiers is no more the player that he was in the older days. He primarily gave a suggestion to the Royal Challengers Bangalore management to drop the former South African international. He cited the recent patch of form for the controversial decision.
