IPL 2021: BCCI asks Delhi Capitals to isolate themselves


A major development happened in the Indian Premier League bubble. Amid the recent coronavirus outbreak in the bubble, the whole Delhi Capitals have isolated themselves.

According to Cricbuzz, the BCCI asked the players, support staff to quarantine themselves. The development comes after Delhi Capitals played against Kolkata Knight Riders on April 29.

Earlier, KKR players namely Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier tested positive for the virus infection. Meanwhile, the match between KKR and RCB has been postponed for the same reason.

Currently, the Delhi Capitals are in Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, DC official told that they have been advised to go into quarantine after their last game against KKR.

Delhi Capitals’ players and support staff are in isolation. They are in their respective rooms. As of now, the duration of the quarantine is not known yet.

“As we had played our last game against KKR, we have been advised to go into quarantine and all of us are in isolation. We are all in our rooms,” a Delhi Capitals official told this website.

Delhi Capitals top the IPL 2021 points table

Needless to say, there is no surety of a practice session for them on May 4. “We don’t have any information if that practice session will go ahead,” the official said. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals are on top of the IPL 2021 points table.

They played 8 games wherein they won 6 games and lost twice. Pant’s team secured 12 points with a Net Run Rate of +0.547. Delhi Capitals’ next fixture, incidentally, is against the Knight Riders on May 8 in Ahmedabad.
