South African bowler Imran Tahir paid the tribute to former Pakistani bowler Tahir Mughal by removing the jersey after pecking the wicket in PSL.
Imran Tahir South African leg spinner recently featured in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for franchise Multan Sultan. During the match against Quetta Gladiators incidence of Imran Tahir removing jersey took place.
Multan Sultan won the toss and decided to bowl first at Karachi National stadium. In the first inning of the match, Multan Sultan scored a total of 176/7 in the entire 20 overs. As openers did the partnership of 69 runs in the 8 overs.
Batting first from Sarfaraz Ahmed’s lead side except himself and Qais Ahmad everyone who arrived on the pitch smashed double-digit runs. Opener Usman Khan and Saim Ayub were the highest run-getter from Gladiator’s side.
Usman Khan scored an astonishing knock of 81 runs including 10 fours and 3 sixes. Along with the Saim Ayub’s 23 runs with two boundaries and one six. Besides them, Faf du Plessis, Nawaz, and Azam Khan were also great to run scorers from them.
Meanwhile, Imran Tahir was playing his first PSL match since the start of the league and paid tribute to his friend after taking his first wicket. He sent back Saim Ayub back to the pavilion in the 8th over of the first inning and he celebrated it by removing his jersey.
Inside the jersey, there was a white T-shirt on which a photo of late Tahir Mughal was printed. Also, he wrote the message, “My brother. I Will Miss You. RIP.” This video of Imran Tahir went viral on social media as he showed a respectful act on the pitch towards the former Pakistani cricketer.

Imran Tahir’s tribute to the Pakistani cricketer who passed away in January 2021 impressed every Pakistani fan during the PSL match. Tahir Mughal was the local cricket coach from Pakistan and also an ex-Pakistani cricketer.
He played a couple of matches in domestic cricket and also carried an impressive bowling record till the end of his cricketing career. Tahir Mughal played 84 List A matches and took 88 wickets. Also, played 26 T20 games and scalped 10 batters
Despite these two formats, Tahir Mughal’s impact in first-class games was incredible. He only appeared in 112 first-class matches but hauled a massive 502 wickets. Bowled with the outstanding economy of 3.22 and 7/50 at his best.
On the other hand, Multan Sultan failed to chase the huge target set by the Quetta Gladiators. Mohammad Rizwan led the side nailed down on a total of 154 runs and lost the match by 22 runs. The unexpected batting performance from Sultan Multan leads them towards the loss.
Skipper Mohammad Rizwan was the alone fighter from the Multan Sultan side. He smashed the 66 runs off 50 balls including seven boundaries and two sixes throughout his inning. But this was not enough to have the win over Gladiators.
None other batsmen from Multan Sultan scored good enough runs for the team. Whereas, Q. Ahmad impressed everyone with his bowling as he picked up 3 wickets with an economy of almost five. Henceforth, other bowlers also took at least one wicket each and hope to continue the same form in the next matches.
