Tottenham Hotspur winger admits how much he loves being at Mauricio Pochetino side.
Erik Lamela has been with Tottenham now for more than 6 years. Spurs signed him on August 30, 2013, from Roma for a transfer fee of about £25m plus the bonus payment of about £4.2m which made him the most expensive player in the club’s history.
The 27 years old has mentioned in an interview about his growing love for Tottenham Hotspur.
“I love Tottenham too much, every season more and more. It’s been a lot of seasons here, a lot of years. Every season my love is more. My family is very happy that I’m here.”
As per his stay at Lily-whites, he is known as one of the longest-serving Tottenham players left at Mauricio Pochettino’s side. He has played 192 matches for Tottenham Spurs and scored 31 times and given 42 assists.
The Argentine attacker has made quite a fine start to this season. Lamela is putting some really fine efforts to struggle and get back his previous form and is perhaps getting more playing chances than any of his other teammates.
Lamela’s growth at the Lily-whites has not been very scintillating rather it was blighted with tons of injuries. The longest which he sustained was the hip injury due to which he has to rest for more than a year.
The winger has not been into the main action for the club and has been on the sidelines quite many times missing out a number of matches. Even when he was healthy and fit, he not been a consistent performer.
Moreover, on July 2018 the tricky winger has renewed his contract with Tottenham with an extension till 2022.
Since now, Lamela has scored for Spurs in the last clash with Crystal Palace, marking the 4-0 victory. He is expected to be involved with Tottenham where they are set to take on Olympiacos in the Champions League tomorrow.
Lamela has now caught an eye of his manager Mauricio Pochettino. Also, his consistently good performance and increase in playtime suggest that he is going to be seen in the upcoming fixtures and can expect a good number of matches coming his way.
