Barcelona chances of landing me are slim to none says Barcelona’s main target for the summer amid transfer rumors.
Neymar made the summer transfer window his own personal soap opera and it ended with him handing Barcelona a check for €222 million. What started everything that leads to that happening, was Barcelona going after Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti. The Catalan giants were hell-bent on signing Italian man, especially after his performances against them in the Champions League and even in the Ligue 1.
But all this did was lead to an attack by the Parisians with Neymar eventually joining them. This is exactly why many critics feel that this has burned any bridge between the Ligue 1 club and the La Liga giants, especially with Barcelona still very interested in Marco Verratti. The Italian would be the perfect replacement for Xavi Hernandez, with the Catalan giants still looking for a good replacement for him.
However, it looks like, despite super-agent Mino Raiola’s insistent comments and rumors that the Italian has offered himself to Barcelona, the 25-year-old has finally had his say. In an interview with Gazzetta Dello Sport [via Four-Four-Two], Verratti went on to say, “I’ve read that Raiola has offered me to Barcelona – it’s false. I talked to my managers, they know what I think, things are clear. I have decided to stay at PSG.”
He further added, talking about the tie against Madrid “Real Madrid is a tough opponent, but we were convinced we could progress. PSG is not so far behind Real. Some details make the difference. We did a lot in the first leg, but still two goals [was the difference] – we also lacked Neymar, which is like taking Messi away from Barcelona.”
Marco Verratti: "I got it wrong against Real, but it was a red card out of frustration It was a bad reaction but I didn't insult anybody, whereas Messi goes around pointing his finger in the referee's face and doesn't even get punished."

Not just a superb passer of the ball, the 25-year-old has specialized in dictating play from deep and has also been called one of the most intelligent players around. With a pass-accuracy of over 90 percent this season alone, Marco Verratti has managed to fly under the radar thanks to the performances of Edison Cavani, Neymar, and youngster Kylian Mbappe.
Marco Verratti would essentially make Barcelona perfect, giving them the missing ingredient that they have needed ever since Xavi left. However, having already spent an obscene amount on players, plus targeting Antoine Griezmann, bringing in Verratti as well may prove to be too much for the club to handle.
