India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya is one of the fittest cricketers on the Indian cricket team. He was last seen donning the Indian jersey during the limited-overs series against Australia. After that, he took a break from cricket to spend some quality time with his family.
Since then, India played the Border Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia and won it by 2-1. After that, India returned to Chennai to play the four-match Test series against Joe Root & Co. England won the first Test match by 227 runs at Chepauk Stadium.
However, India made a brilliant comeback in the second Test match at the same venue. India beat England by 317 runs to level the series 1-1. Coming to the third Test match, India sealed the deal in the pink-ball affair at Narendra Modi Stadium.
India won by 10 wickets to take a 2-1 lead in the ongoing series. The series decider will kick-off at the same venue in Ahmedabad. India should ensure that they don’t lose the match as it is part of their qualification for the ICC World Test Championship final.
England will no longer qualify for the ICC WTC final after they lost to India in the pink-ball affair. New Zealand was the first team to seal the spot in the ICC WTC final, which is slated to be played at Lord’s in June later this year.
Hardik Pandya takes a stunner
The star all-rounder Hardik Pandya showcased his mettle in the limited-overs series against Australia. After a break, he made himself available for the Test series. He is also a part of India’s Test squad for the ongoing series.
However, he is yet to get a single game to play against England. Meanwhile, the all-rounder engaged in an intense drill session where he worked extremely hard during the training session ahead of the fourth and final Test versus England.

The all-rounder might have warmed the bench in the ongoing Test series but that didn’t stop him from hitting the nets. Last week, the Surat-lad uploaded some pictures on his Instagram story where he trained vigorously with fielding coach R Sridhar.
In one of the video clips, the Mumbai Indians’ all-rounder showcased terrific fielding skills. He took his skills to the next level by taking a sensational catch near the boundary rope. The 27-year-old Baroda cricketer pulled off a one-handed stunner.
The manner in which he took a catch was truly sensational because he grabbed a screamer while his body was in the air only a few inches away from the boundary rope. The video clip of him taking a stunner is doing the rounds on the internet.
When was the last time he bowled?
The young cricketer had earlier told that he would bowl once he is 100% fit. At the moment, he is concentrating on his batting. He last bowled in the international circuit during the ODI fixture against Australia last year.
Prior to that, he didn’t spring into bowling action in the IPL 2020 season for Mumbai Indians (MI) at the UAE. He is still continuing to work hard in getting back to good shape after recuperating from a shoulder injury.
